Welcome to the web site of the International Ski Club of Journalists.
SCIJ, as we call our club by the initials of its French name, was founded during the so-called “Cold War” in 1955 to generate conversation between journalists from different countries. Skiing seems to have been a good excuse to get people together, for today we have over 2000 members in 46 countries, and every year some 250 of us get together in some snowy place to ski together, to compete in GS and CC and to discuss the hot topics of the day in world politics, economi, environment, culture...Well, sports, too.

IM MEMORIAM

Birgitte Grue
The memorial service of former member of SCIJ, Birgitte Grue from Denmark, took place in the Chapel at The Cementary of Holmen next to a beautiful church built in 1902 in a Norwegian style, placed near the Centre of Copenhagen.
Upon Birgitte's request, music by Händel, Beethoven and Mozart were played at the memorial ceremony. Mourning the loss of Birgitte, after the ceremony we shared small, joyful anecdotes about the colourful Great Dane.
