
Celina Seghi, nicknamed the 'little snow mouse' was a real champion in the 1940s and won the gold
medal at the Cortina World Championship in 1941. She was the bronze medal winner in the world
slalom event at Aspen in 1950 and still today the record holder for wins in the Italian Championship
downhill, slalom and combined events. She learned to ski in the Abetone mountains and one of
the Apennine slopes has been named after her.
