The winter season in Donovaly is a true paradise for winter sports fans. The more experienced skiers and snowboarders can take a new 6-seat/cabin chairlift TELEMIX to the peak of the Nová Holˇa in the altitude of 1370 m above sea level and enjoy the breathtaking view of the surrounding mountain panorama. The length of the ski slope is 2 km. Záhradisˇte is a family terrain suitable for beginners which offers 11 ski lifts and UNIFIX 4-seat chairlift built 2 years ago. Refreshment during skiing is easily accessible. The surroundings of Donovaly and the adjacent settlements are known for the numerous cross-country skiing trails and pleasant paths for winter walks. All ski slopes and cross-country trails are looked after and maintained. Technical snow enables prolongation of winter season to the spring months. After spending time in a fitness centre or sauna, one can enjoy evening skiing at Zahradisˇte. The frosty slope and freezing snow make the atmosphere amazing.

Many interesting sport events are organized during the winter season in PARK SNOW Donovaly. Last season the biggest slope style snowboard show in Central Europe has been held, with the participation of the best snowboarders from all over the world. Due to the great interest of the competitors, even spectators, similar competitions are expected to take place in Donovaly regularly.


Every February, Donovaly becomes a venue of sled dog competition.  World Championships in Sled Dog Racing - Sprint were held in this ski resort in February 2005. The visitors of PARK SNOW Donovaly can also experience unforgettable trips to the countryside by riding dog or horse yokes. New restaurant Koliba GORAL has been ready to serve all visitors of Donovaly by traditional Slovak specialties since last December.
